Career

[edit]

The TD Tom Hussey is a relative.[citation needed]

She first played for Athenry in the Connaht junior club championship in the inaugural year of the 1960s, eventually ascending through the ranks to win All Ireland intermediate winners and runners-up medals in '69, '71, '73, '75, '76, '77.[2] ’77 was the big one. It was when Athenry won the Senior Club All Ireland. She was a substitute for that.[3] She retired in ’81. With the club too, she was runner-up at the inaugural All Ireland Intermediate club championship. She won Co. championship medals with the club in ’75, ’76, ’77, ’78 and again in ’79 and numerous individual medals for her audacious work rate throughout that time.[citation needed]
