Glorious Sound was formed in 2012 by a small group of Seventh-day Adventist singers who were based in the small city of East London in the Eastern Cape, South Africa. Their mutual interest was to encourage choir singing which was fast waning in the church. Within a short time, interest grew and the choir set up small branches in Port Elizabeth and Durban.
In its constitution, Glorious Sound’s main objectives are to: -
1. promulgate the good news of salvation in song;
2. encourage members to be well-grounded in the rudiments of music; and
3. provide music at SDA church gatherings, and other denomination as per invitation.
Currently membership stands at 60, but we operate as three regions, only gathering once or twice a year for joint performances.
The choir is currently directed by Ntsikelelo Cakata, assisted by Khaya Nunu who also doubles as an accompanist.
